By all accounts, a lot of the primary recruiting services view Syracuse basketball 2022 signee Judah Mintz as a four-star prospect in his class who is also a top-50 overall player as well as a top-10 to a top-15 combo guard/shooting guard.
The 6-foot-3 Mintz, a total star as a senior for the powerhouse Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., committed to the Orange at the end of March over other finalists DePaul, Wake Forest and N.C. State.
National analysts, scouts and his own coaches rave about Mintz’s all-around game, as he is a stand-out on both ends of the floor. He’s a highly efficient three-level scorer on offense with great court vision and a strong basketball IQ.
On defense, Mintz is praised by experts as being a durable, tough defender who can guard multiple positions. He’s athletic and agile, and he’s a solid rebounder, too.
So while I’m noting some of the recently updated (and final) national rankings for Judah Mintz in the 2022 cycle, let’s take these ratings with somewhat of a grain of salt. He’s an excellent prospect who should shine on the Hill.
Let’s review new 2022 rankings for Syracuse basketball commit Judah Mintz.
First and foremost, all of the main recruiting services view Mintz as a four-star prospect in his class. ESPN is the most bullish on him, placing Mintz as No. 33 across the country and the No. 7 shooting guard in the final top-100 ratings from this recruiting service.
On3 recently published its final top-150 list for the 2022 class, and in somewhat of a surprise to me personally, Mintz was No. 75 overall, No. 12 at combo guard and No. 4 in Virginia.
I know that these sorts of national ratings are subjective to a degree, but ESPN having him at No. 33, and On3 putting Mintz at No. 75, that is a fairly large disparity to me.
The industry-generated On3 Consensus, at the time of this writing, rated Mintz as No. 48 nationwide, No. 9 at combo guard and No. 2 in Virginia.
In the final 2022 national rankings from Rivals.com, Mintz is No. 56 nationwide and No. 10 at shooting guard.
When I penned this article, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite had him at No. 50 overall, No. 8 at combo guard and No. 2 in Virginia.
Finally, in another national ranking that seems a bit low to me, 247Sports has Judah Mintz at No. 73 nationally, No. 12 at combo guard and No. 2 in Virginia.
