Syracuse vs NC State Prediction

Perhaps it’s fitting they’re the Orange, because Syracuse erupted like a volcano against Wake Forest. They shot 10/19 from beyond the arc and 36/63 overall en route to a 94-72 victory that was pure domination. With the 13th-best adjusted offensive efficiency in the country, they’re a threat to catch fire and melt molten lava from their fingertips at any moment.

It’s felt like the Orange were on the verge of exploding all year. Despite being just 1-5 on the road this year, Syracuse narrowly lost to Georgetown, Miami and Wake Forest (before pummeling them into volcanic ash at home in the aforementioned beatdown). Now they get a chance to win their first road game since December 4th against an NC State team that is just 2-5 at home over their last seven.

The Wolfpack haven’t been covering the spread either, as they’re just 2-7 against the spread (ATS) as a home favorite. They’re a good offensive team (not as good as Syracuse) but are terribly defensively. NC State ranks 269th nationally in opponent effective field goal percentage and 311th in defensive 3-point shooting. Syracuse’s experienced, versatile offense should have their way.

I expect a lot of points in this one but don’t think NC State will be able to keep up with Syracuse. I’ll take Syracuse +2 (-110) as they build off the momentum of their Wake Forest win and nab their second road win of the season.
