By Neil Adler
In his first season suiting up for a powerhouse prep-school team in Indiana, Syracuse basketball four-star recruiting target Aden Holloway has put forth some really impressive showings at several big-time events.
The latest dazzling by the 6-foot-1 point guard came at the prestigious 2022 Spalding Hoophall Classic, which featured a bevy of top-flight squads and took place at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass.
Holloway, a junior at the La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind., and his teammates competed against two fellow top-10 groups at this event, and the Orange recruiting prospect certainly caught the attention of national analysts and scouts for his play at this year’s Spalding Hoophall Classic.
The La Lumiere School fell by a couple of points to the mighty Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., but then Holloway and his teammates responded with a tremendous two-point triumph over the juggernaut AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz., a unit whose line-up features former ‘Cuse recruiting target Chance Westry, a 2022 four-star guard committed to Auburn.
Let’s look at how Syracuse basketball target Aden Holloway fared.

According to recruiting services and media reports, Syracuse basketball coaches offered a scholarship to Holloway in the summer of 2019.
His other offers include from Wichita State, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Winthrop and, most recently, Creighton.
Eric Bossi, the national basketball director for 247Sports, said in a recent piece that Auburn and Cincinnati are also in pursuit of Holloway.
Bossi had a lot of positive things to say about Holloway after seeing him perform at the Spalding Hoophall Classic. The 247Sports analyst called Holloway “one of the craftiest players in the entire class.”
"More from Bossi: “The six-foot, 155-pound point guard can get anywhere he wants out on the floor with how low he plays to the ground, his tight handle and his creativity. He’s terrific in ball-screens and while he is just six-foot, he’s a terrific layup maker regardless of finishing in traffic or through contact. … He also has vision and can really pass and makes shots off the catch and bounce from three.”"
