Multiple five-star prospects in the 2023 class who hold Syracuse basketball scholarship offers have fared quite well with their individual performances at recent holiday tournaments.

D.J. Wagner, a five-star point guard and the consensus No. 1 junior for the time being, guided his team, Camden High School in Camden, N.J., to a dominating 73-41 victory against Archbishop Wood Catholic High School out of Warminster, Pa.

Per a tweet from The HS Circuit, the 6-foot-3 Wagner collected 21 points, two rebounds and an impressive six steals in the win. This contest was part of the recently held Hoophall East in Lewes, Del.

‘Cuse coaches offered Wagner this past August at the Orange’s annual Elite Camp, although it appears at this juncture that the elite 2023 prospect seems to have more buzz with other college squads.

Let’s check in on several other Syracuse basketball five-star prospects.

In another encounter at Hoophall East, St. Paul VI Catholic High School from Chantilly, Va., defeated the Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia by a final margin of 59-50.

Leading the way for Imhotep Institute Charter High School was 2023 five-star small forward Justin Edwards. The 6-foot-7 Edwards, a top-10 player in this cycle per some recruiting services, finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks, according to The HS Circuit.

Syracuse basketball coaches offered a scholarship to Edwards this past summer. He has a ton of high-major offers, and we noted in a recent column some of the campus visits that Edwards is eyeing.

Five-star big man G.G. Jackson, whose first college scholarship offer came from the Orange in August of 2020, attends Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C.

Jackson, a 6-foot-8 power forward and a top-10 prospect in the 2023 class, put forth some nice production as Ridge View High School competed at the 2021 Chick-fil-A Classic in Columbia, S.C.

In a setback to Prolific Prep in Napa Valley, Calif., Jackson had 15 points and two boards, according to statistics provided by theseasonticket.com.

Against Huntington Prep in Huntington, W.Va., also a loss for Ridge View High School, Jackson was really strong, generating 24 points, 15 rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

Recent media reports suggest that Jackson is looking to trim his list of contenders at some point in the near future.
