Last Saturday, Albany played a closely fought contest at home against Rhode Island. Per an announcement from the Albany athletics department Web site, the Great Danes lost to Rhode Island, 16-14, in an encounter that came down to the final drive.

Syracuse football continues to play well on the defensive side of the field. The offense, though, leaves a lot to be desired. Losing to Rutgers isn’t an awful thing to have had occurred, but a win over the Scarlet Knights would have really pumped up the Orange faithful.

Albany is a solid FCS team, but I don’t see the Great Danes giving Syracuse football too challenging of a game. I like the Orange to prevail in this one, by a comfortable margin.
