Syracuse basketball has made scholarship offers to multiple players in the 2023 cycle, and the Orange has reportedly shown interest in numerous other prospects who just wrapped up their sophomore years of high school.

Recruiting service Rivals.com recently published an update of its top-100 players in this class, and we’re going to take a look at where various ‘Cuse prospects are placed in these new rankings.

First and foremost, as we detailed in a recent column, five-star point guard D.J. Wagner is No. 1 across the country in the Rivals.com ratings. Syracuse basketball has reportedly reached out to Wagner, who attends Camden High School in Camden, N.J.

Last summer, the Orange offered elite Canadian wing Elijah Fisher, who fell three spots to No. 7 overall. The five-star prospect is out of the Crestwood Preparatory College in Toronto, Ontario.

Aaron Bradshaw, one of the top centers in the 2023 class, has also reportedly heard from the ‘Cuse coaching staff. The four-star big man, also from Camden High School, entered the Rivals.com rankings at No. 19.

Four-star power forward G.G. Jackson is one of the hottest names in this cycle and has seen his stock soar of late. Jackson, who attends Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C., moved up six placements to No. 20 overall. The Orange offered him last August.

Let’s see where other Syracuse basketball 2023 targets are rated by Rivals.com.

Taylor Bowen, a four-star wing from the Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., checks in at No. 26 nationally after previously being unranked. Bowen has said that he’s in contact with the ‘Cuse.

Dynamic point guard Elmarko Jackson debuts in the Rivals.com ratings at No. 31 nationwide. The four-star prospect out of the Academy of the New Church in Bryn Athyn, Pa., has said that he would like to hear from Syracuse basketball.

Four-star wing Matas Buzelis, who landed an Orange offer last November, has gone from unranked to No. 42. He, too, plays for the Brewster Academy.

Four-star point guard Aden Holloway enters the Rivals.com rankings at No. 56. He picked up a ‘Cuse offer in the summer of 2019 and recently said that he would transfer from the Covenant Day School in Matthews, N.C., to the powerhouse La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind.

Gavin Griffiths is new to the 2023 ratings at No. 71 overall. The four-star wing, from the Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, Conn., received an offer from Syracuse basketball in October of 2020.

Last but not least, stellar shooting guard Blue Cain jumped from unranked to No. 81 nationally. The four-star Cain, who goes to Knoxville Catholic High School in Knoxville, Tenn., obtained an Orange offer earlier this year, in February.
