Syracuse basketball 2023 prospect Elijah Fisher is a hard-working, talented, humble and confident player. He’s unanimously rated five stars, and the Canadian prospect is also in the top-five overall in his cycle, according to numerous recruiting services.

The 6-foot-7 wing, a sophomore at the Crestwood Preparatory College in Toronto, Ontario, believes that at the end of the day, he is the top player in the 2023 class. And Fisher is ready to prove this on the court.

"Fisher pens a blog for SI All-American, and in a recent post, he wrote, “I’ve always said that I think I’m the No. 1 player in the class of 2023, but I just let whoever think what they want. I feel like they forget about me because I’m in Canada not able to play with the pandemic. … I feel like it’s a little disrespectful, but it’s fine; whoever they put on the pedestal I’ll see them at some point, and I’ll prove it on the court.”"

I totally admire that kind of confidence from Fisher, who received a scholarship offer from the Orange last summer and holds a ton of other high-major offers.

Speaking of that, Fisher reveals in his blog post that he recently landed a new offer from Baylor. The Bears are a juggernaut in the Big 12 Conference, with Baylor earning a No. 1 seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

Syracuse basketball 2023 five-star target Elijah Fisher is seeing his recruitment expand.

Fisher characterized his offer from the Bears as “big,” because he says that he loves Baylor’s “style and how tough they are. That’s how I play too.”

As we’ve discussed in the past, Fisher’s other offers include from teams such as Kansas, Florida State, Arizona, Florida, Oregon, Memphis, Seton Hall, West Virginia and Southern California. He also holds interest from Kentucky.

Given that he’s only a sophomore, Fisher will absolutely see his offer list continue to grow. The ‘Cuse has historically done well attracting Canadian prospects to the Hill, but there is just loads of competition for Fisher.

By the way, the blog post from Fisher notes that he is averaging 30 points and 14 rebounds a game this season for the Crestwood Preparatory College.

Impressive stuff. Some analysts have said that Fisher will contend for the No. 1 overall ranking in the 2023 cycle, and I wholeheartedly agree with that assessment.
