Syracuse basketball 2022 four-star commit Kamari Lands is a top-25 player in his class, and he also continues to rise in the rankings as it pertains to his primary position.

I say primary, because from what I’ve read about the 6-foot-8 Lands, he can suit up at small forward, shooting guard and even point guard. That being said, the bevy of recruiting services list him as a small forward.

When Rivals.com recently updated its national rankings of the top-150 prospects across the country in the 2022 cycle, Lands climbed a massive 32 spots to No. 30 overall.

Rivals.com also has Lands as the No. 9 small forward. He is a top-10 player at this position, too, according to the 247Sports Composite, 247Sports and ESPN. At this juncture, 247Sports has Lands rated the highest at small forward, with him checking in at No. 6 nationwide.

Assuming that Lands continues to shine on the AAU circuit and in his senior year of prep-school ball, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Lands ultimately contends for top-five status overall among small forwards within the 2022 class.

Syracuse basketball commit Kamari Lands is a stellar wing prospect in the 2022 cycle.

In a recent article, Rivals.com basketball recruiting director Rob Cassidy discussed the top high-school players at each position as that recruiting service unveiled its latest 2022 national rankings.

"Here’s what Cassidy had to say about the Orange commit. “Kamari Lands moved up 30 spots in the Rivals150 release and is now the top committed small forward in America. The Syracuse pledge made his decision in early April and will provide the Orange with a long, athletic wing that can shoot from distance as well as finish at the bucket. Lands is a willing defender and working to become a better ball-handler.”"

Lands is a junior at Prolific Prep in Napa Valley, Calif., a squad that was one of the best high-school teams around the country in the 2020-21 campaign. Looking ahead to the 2021-22 term, MaxPreps has Prolific Prep at No. 5 in its early pre-season top-25 rankings.

Given that Prolific Prep appears to be a national-title contender in the upcoming season, and Lands has a significant role on the roster, the overall and positional rankings for this Syracuse basketball commit could certainly rise over the course of the next 12 months.
