Syracuse basketball has shown interest in 2022 point guard Bryce Lindsay, whose recruiting is heating up.
Syracuse basketball recently started expressing interest in 2022 point guard Bryce Lindsay from Baltimore, who is seeing his recruitment grow to a national scale.
The 6-foot-3 Lindsay, a junior at the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in Baltimore, runs on the AAU circuit with Team Thrill, which is also located in Baltimore.
To date, per this article by Stockrisers.com founder Jake Weingarten as well as several recruiting Web sites, Lindsay holds scholarship offers from teams such as former Big East Conference rival Georgetown, fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member Virginia Tech, VCU, George Mason, Howard and Bryant.
I expect his offer sheet to soar in the near future, as Lindsay’s stock appears on the rise. According to his interview with Weingarten, Lindsay has interest from, besides the Orange, stellar squads such as Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue, Maryland, Indiana, Florida and Marquette, as well as a pair of ACC units in Pittsburgh and Clemson.
For now, I’m not seeing Lindsay rated nationally within the 2022 cycle by the primary recruiting services, but that will likely change should he perform well in his junior campaign of high school.
Syracuse basketball is one of many impressive groups to offer or display interest in Bryce Lindsay, an under-rated 2022 point guard.
While the ‘Cuse already has a point guard, five-star Dior Johnson, committed to the team in its 2022 class, it certainly can’t hurt to take a look at other point guards in this cycle.
For one, some recruiting analysts and commentators think that Johnson is likely to suit up on the Hill for only one year. Plus, depth at point guard on the Orange roster is important.
Weingarten writes that Lindsay “showcased himself all summer long and a recent performance at Beltway Battle Showcase sparked interest from high-majors all over the country.”
Weingarten continues, “I’ve had coaches rave about his ability to lead an offense and plugin such a high-IQ on both ends.”
As far as Lindsay’s expectations for the upcoming stanza, he told Weingarten, “I want to be ranked top-25 in my class, I want to get recruited by the blue-blood schools, and also I want to get an offer by a Big-12 school.”
Going from unrated to top-25 overall is a lofty goal, but it sounds like Lindsay is hard at work toward achieving his objective. Hopefully, Syracuse basketball will stay involved with Lindsay.
