Syracuse basketball proved the first to offer 2023 four-star G.G. Jackson, but other offers are coming in.

Syracuse basketball 2023 target G.G. Jackson has evolved into a top-flight talent within his recruiting cycle, and his scholarship-offer sheet is only going to continue to grow.

In early August, the Orange became the first college squad to offer the 6-foot-8 power forward. Jackson is now up to a half-dozen offers, with the latest arriving from fellow Atlantic Coast Conference foe Pittsburgh, according to his Twitter page.

Besides the ‘Cuse and the Panthers, his offers are from Clemson, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, according to a review of the main recruiting Web sites, as well as Jackson’s own Twitter account. Additionally, Jackson is reportedly receiving interest from Florida State, which in 2019-20 captured the ACC regular-stanza crown.

It’s a positive sign that Orange coaches have recruited Jackson early on in the process, however, I expect his recruitment to blow up on a national scale. Jackson, by the way, is a sophomore at Ridge View High School in Columbia, S.C.

Recruiting service 247Sports recently unveiled its inaugural player rankings for the 2023 class, and the four-star Jackson checks in at No. 29 overall. He’s also the No. 4 power forward and the No. 2 high-school prospect in the state of South Carolina.

Syracuse basketball target G.G. Jackson is slotted by 247Sports as four stars and a top-30 player in the 2023 cycle.

Several recruiting analysts and industry observers are giving Jackson a ton of high praise as he looks ahead to his sophomore term.

"Jamie Shaw, a basketball insider with PalmettoPreps.com, which covers high-school sports in South Carolina, had this to say about Jackson in a recent story. “He is a very skilled forward who is able to play on mismatches, taking smaller guys on the blocks and bigger guys on the perimeter. Defensively, Jackson does not shy away from contact at all, in fact he initiates a lot of the bumping around the paint. He uses good positioning for rebounding and toughness and length for protecting the rim.”"

Travis Branham, an analyst with 247Sports, has rated his top-11 prospects in the 2023 class who reside in the southeast region. Jackson is No. 9 in this piece.

"Branham provided this assessment of Jackson, saying in part, “To go with his physical frame, he also is a plus athlete with a high motor, making his physical tools that much more effective as a rebounder, defender, post-finisher and rim-runner. At this stage, he is a below average shooter but he does have pretty good mechanics and good touch and with more time and reps it’s expected he will continue to improve in this area.”"
