Recruiting service 247Sports has unveiled its top 50 for the 2023 class, and Syracuse basketball target Elijah Fisher is right near the top.
Syracuse basketball 2023 target Elijah Fisher put forth a phenomenal freshman campaign playing high-school ball in Canada, and now he’s soared to top-five status within his recruiting cycle.
Recruiting service 247Sports has published its initial top-50 prospects in the class of 2023, and the 6-foot-7 wing is placed at No. 3 overall as well as the No. 1 shooting guard.
Fisher, a sophomore who attends Crestwood Preparatory College in Toronto, Ontario, is also one of eight guys in this class who are rated as five stars by 247Sports. Naturally, he is the No. 1 prospect in Ontario.
A few weeks ago, we penned a column where we noted that Fisher has fielded close to 20 scholarship offers from a range of high-major programs such as Arizona, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Memphis, Morgan State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Seton Hall, Southern California, St. John’s, Tennessee State, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Western Kentucky.
Syracuse basketball target Elijah Fisher is among the best high-school players in the entire 2023 recruiting cycle.
Fisher, a shooting guard/small forward who landed an offer from Syracuse basketball back in late July, discussed his recruitment and other topics in a recent blog post that he wrote for SI All-American.
In that piece, he said of his recruiting process, “since I’m 2023 it’s not as intense, but I’m still hearing from schools like Syracuse, Oregon State, Texas A&M, Dayton, Tennessee and others.”
A relatively new offer has arrived for Fisher from a fellow Atlantic Coast Conference member. Florida State, which captured the ACC regular-season crown during the 2019-20 term, offered Fisher on Sept. 23, per his bio on the 247Sports Web site.
The Orange has a storied history of securing high-level prospects who hail from Canada, although competition for Fisher is clearly intense. If he did elect to ultimately don a ‘Cuse uniform, Fisher would represent one of the top-rated recruits for Syracuse basketball dating back to Carmelo Anthony in the 2002-03 stanza.
As we’ve covered extensively of late, Orange 2022 commit and five-star point guard Dior Johnson is the No. 3 player in that cycle, according to 247Sports.
Syracuse basketball 2021 commit and five-star small forward Benny Williams, meanwhile, recently jumped 29 spots over at Rivals.com, to No. 22 nationally in his class.
