Syracuse basketball swept Boston College thanks to a star-studded performance from Elijah Hughes on the road. Here are all the details and how it played out.

Syracuse basketball earned its 17th win of the season and improved to 10-9 in the ACC after their 84-71 win over the Boston College Eagles.

Syracuse traded shots with Boston College throughout a very ugly first half.

Although the biggest difference in the early portion of this game vs the Eagles compared to the last one was the perimeter shooting.

In the first game over a month ago, BC only made 6 triple tries on 30 attempts for a horrid 20 percent conversion rate.

This time around the Eagles landed with a lot more success which made this game a lot closer than it should’ve been in the first stanza. Although the Orange overcame those issues to pull away in the second half.

For the Syracuse side of things, Buddy Boeheim wasn’t overly efficient from deep, but he got it done around the free-throw line and found the bottom of the net.

While Elijah Hughes continues to make his case as the potential ACC scoring champ. Hughes finished with 28 points, four rebounds, an assist, and a steal.

Although we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Bourama Sidibe. We aren’t sure what they’ve been feeding this big man but he has transformed before our very eyes in the last four games:

  • Vs Georgia Tech: 6 points, 10 boards, 3 steals, and a block.
  • At Pittsburgh: 13 points, 10 boards, 5 steals, and 4 blocks.
  • Vs North Carolina: 17 points, 15 rebounds, 6 blocks, and a steal.
  • At Boston College: 9 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block.

This is the first time in four years that an Orange hoops player has collected north of 10+ boards in four consecutive games since former NBA first-round pick Tyler Lydon did it in the 2016-17 season.

To reiterate Syracuse’s chances at an at-large bid were all but wiped away in the team’s home loss to North Carolina. But these final regular-season games can prove to be important momentum builders heading into the ACC Tournament.
