After losing to North Carolina, I believe it’s, unfortunately, the time to put the nail in the coffin. Syracuse will need to win the ACC Tournament in order to make the Big Dance.

At the very worst, Syracuse will need to win these last two regular-season games and then make the ACC final. Other than that, the Orange are NIT bound, which is something that the Orange weren’t hoping for.

With that being said, Syracuse now has to approach every game like their season is on the line because quite frankly that’s the case. A win against Boston College won’t move the meter in a good way and a loss won’t move the meter in a bad way. This game is somewhat meaningless because the Orange will need to put in some serious work next week.

However, the one thing I am looking forward to in the game against Boston College is Syracuse’s motivation.

The loss to the Tar Heels is obviously a heartbreaker, but there are still games to be played. Syracuse should be looking to end the year strong, but would it shock me if they lost to Boston College by 20? No.

The Orange know that their best basketball will have to come in the conference tournament, but they need to start working on things they could use now. Whether it’s managing player’s minutes or drawing up new plays, the game plans need to start taking shape now.

I will pick Syracuse in an extremely close game over the Eagles because a win or a loss here doesn’t mean much, so I don’t expect a blowout either way.

FINAL SCORE
SYRACUSE 70 BOSTON COLLEGE 67
