Well, that sure took the wind out of the sails.

There was the slimmest bit of hope that Syracuse could find a way to win out the regular season and make a deep run in the ACC Tournament and perhaps that would be enough to earn an at-large bid. All those hopes and dreams died over the weekend vs North Carolina.

Now the truth is very harsh but a brutal reality. If Syracuse wants to go dancing in the NCAA Tournament, they HAVE to win the ACC Tourney. If they don’t the best the Orange can hope for is the NIT.

This season has been a tough pill to swallow with weird injuries, inconsistency, and as of late some horrible perimeter shooting.

There are two ways to look at these final two regular-season games for Syracuse. On one hand, pointless because as we just mentioned wins or losses will have absolutely no bearing on what happens with this team.

Or you can look at this as a potential momentum boost. If Syracuse can get hot at the right time then these games can be a launching pad for this team to go on a run. Thankfully they’re facing a Boston College squad that they dominated the last time they played them.

How motivated will the Orange be? The answer to that question will tell you who won the game. I’ll believe in Syracuse to get a dub on the road: 69-57.
