Syracuse is coming off one of the most embarrassing losses I have ever seen as a Syracuse fan. After being down only seven at halftime, Syracuse played as bad of a second half as you can possibly play, especially on the defensive side.

It seemed like Louisville couldn’t have walked the ball better to the basket. Louisville got numerous open dunks, made wide open 3’s, and made our guards look like the worst defenders in the country.

This loss really hurts Syracuse’s chances of making the Big Dance, but it doesn’t kill them completely in my opinion.

Syracuse will need to go on a serious run to just make it back to the bubble because they are nowhere near the discussion as of today. However, there is still a good month of college basketball that needs to be played, so we will see how different the resume looks come Selection Sunday.

As for this game against Georgia Tech, I expect Syracuse to take out a lot of their frustrations out on the Yellow Jackets. I remember last year when Georgia Tech came into the Dome and beat Syracuse by a good 30 points, and hopefully, the Syracuse players still remember that game too.

Georgia Tech has been playing pretty well as of late, but Syracuse is coming off playing 2 of the best teams in the country. Therefore, Syracuse should be able to do everything a little bit better and more efficiently against the Yellow Jackets.

There is a chance that the Syracuse players have given up on the season because their chances look so bleak at playing in the Tournament, but there’s no way Jim Boeheim will allow that to happen.

I know Georgia Tech is going to come into the Carrier Dome and play hard, and there is a question if Syracuse will do the same. However, they will bring their intensity and pride into the Dome on Saturday and Syracuse should win rather easily. This could be the start of a much-needed run that Syracuse needs.
