After a disappointing result against Duke, Syracuse has had a week off to think and prepare about the work that has to be done to make a run at the NCAA Tournament down the stretch.

In my opinion, the best-case scenario for Syracuse to make the Big Dance is to finish 4th in the ACC before the conference tournament starts. I know the ACC is down this year, but the team that finishes 4th in the conference can’t be left out of the tournament. Plain and simple.

The Orange have two really tough games left on their schedule ( at Louisville, at Florida State). It would be nice for Syracuse to win one of those games to show that they can actually beat a good team, but I don’t even think they need to win either of those. Beating up on the other average teams should be Jim Boeheim’s and Syracuse’s goal as the season winds down.

As for this game against Wake Forest, there is literally one guy you have to worry about. Brandon Childress is really good. He is one of those players have seems like he’s been in college for 8 years because of how good of a career he has had. Syracuse can not let him do what he wants on the perimeter. The Demon Deacons don’t have anyone else who can beat you. The guards in the zone better keep an eye on him at all times.

Wake Forest did give Louisville a good scare the other night, and I think Syracuse will be ready for them because of how well they played the Cardinals. Syracuse will win this game running away.

FINAL SCORE
Syracuse 83 Wake Forest 68
