Syracuse needs this game badly. When it comes down to Selection Sunday, the committee doesn’t give a flying hoot about “moral cookies” so that Duke game means dingus. What is most important is finding a way to pull out victories, not keeping games close.

Wake Forest is a terrible team. They’re 6 games under .500 in the ACC and are 2 games under .500 overall. But despite the terrible optics, this team is capable.

Four players on the squad average north of double figures offensively:

  • Brandon Childress: 15.3 points per game
  • Olivier Sarr: 13 points per game
  • Chaundee Brown: 12.4 points per game
  • Andrien White: 10.1 points per game, (former Syracuse basketball stud Andrew White’s little brother)

Wake also has taken out a top-25 team in Xavier and has competed with some of the top teams in the ACC. They’re a very good offensive team and WF uses creative ways to find the bottom of the bucket.

Although the x-factor for this game is Syracuse getting things going offensively. Specifically, some long-range makes would go a long way to getting the Orange the dub. Elijah Hughes is the straw that stirs the drink and he’s due for a huge game.

I’ll take the good guys, give me Syracuse 83 over Wake Forest 70.
