Syracuse Basketball plays its 19th game of the season against Notre Dame Wednesday night. Inside The Loud House tells you how to be able to watch and listen to the game.

Syracuse basketball is finally rounding into shape. The defense still has a ways to go as shown by giving up a 16 point advantage in another tight win on the road at Virginia Tech, but at least the offense is really clicking.

The win over the Hokies puts the Orange at 4-3 in ACC play and 11-7 overall. The Orange must now hit the road again to take on Notre Dame on Wednesday night: a team that just barely squeaked by them very recently.

Much like Syracuse, Notre Dame isn’t playing great this year. They have been having an off year (for a variety of reasons) and are a middle of the pack team at best in a conference that is having a bad season all-around. That being said, while the Irish have struggled of late, the Orange have played rather well.

Following wins over Virginia, Boston College and now Virginia Tech, this Syracuse basketball team is right where they want to be. They are confident and motivated and have a couple of winnable games coming up. All they have to do is stay focused, keep winning games, and continue fighting for that postseason berth.

So what should we expect?

Well for starters, as the Orange found out last time, Notre Dame likes to take their threes.

They don’t make them nearly as much as Virginia Tech does, but they are talented enough to make quite a few to keep themselves in the game. I guess it’s a good thing Syracuse just played a team (Virginia Tech) that did pretty much nothing but take threes last game. In other words, the last game’s mistakes should help this Orange team know what they need to improve on defensively as a team.

In addition, we should also expect a lot more of Buddy Boeheim continuing to be the number two scorer for the Orange behind Elijah Hughes. Hughes may be the leader of this year’s team, but it’s Buddy’s fire and hot shooting stroke that is carrying this team right now. In other words, expect Boeheim to have another masterful game against the Irish with 15 plus points.

Lastly, we can expect this to be another tough, physical affair inside. The Orange have rebounded better lately but still, struggle mightily in that department.

Last time these two teams played, forward John Mooney torched the Orange for easy points inside and racked up rebound after rebound. That can’t happen in this one, but probably will. The Orange will hopefully find a way to limit him without getting in foul trouble with their bigs.

Maybe Quincy Guerrier can hold his own in the post like he has these last few games when Bourama Sidibe has to sit? He’ll need to and play well if the Orange want any chance to win on the road. In other words, expect the Orange to double down defensively, find a way to contain Mooney, get rebounds, and then push the ball offensively on the other end.
