This has been an interesting season thus far for the Syracuse basketball team. There have been moments where doubt started to creep in and we thought maybe this will be the first sub .500 season under Jim Boeheim?

Then there are moments, like right now for example, the team has won two straight games: one in blowout fashion and one in impressive clutch fashion, maybe this team can go dancing? Hell maybe this team can make a run?

DAMN YOU SYRACUSE!

Every time I think I’m done, you drag me back in!

This game is a quadrant one opportunity for the Orange and right now it doesn’t look like they’ll have a ton of these chances to pad the resume with some “skin games” that you can show the committee come Selection Sunday!

The Hokies have three-point shooting which is always scary, but last time out the Orange did a bang-up job for the most part containing their weapons.

The guy to watch out for on the Hokies side of things is Jalen Cone. The freshman was 5-of-7 from deep scoring 19 points to lift VA Tech over Syracuse. Since that explosion, he has had two more double-digit performances and has gained confidence.

If Syracuse can bottle him up I like their moxie on the road to get a pivotal win in Blacksburg! Give me the Orange 76-66.
