Obviously the Orange weren’t able to live up to the hype this season and regardless of the result of Saturday’s game, Syracuse is guaranteed to finish below .500 for the third time in four years under head coach Dino Babers.

While this game may appear meaningless in a lot of people’s eyes, I think this will actually say a lot about Babers as a coach. It’s easy to motivate guys when you have a piece of meat hanging in front of you like a bowl game or the College Football Playoffs. How do you motivate a team when there’s seemingly nothing obvious to point at?

That’ll be a fascinating storyline to watch out for.

This will also be senior day for the Orange and several key pieces will be playing the final collegiate game of their career. Guys like Alton Robinson, Kendall Coleman, and Moe Neal will be gone in 2020. How will they be remembered?

Getting back to this game at hand, it’s been a topsy turvy season that we never really know what team will show up.

Sadly I think this team won’t have the juice required to pull off this upset. Wake Forest is an impressive team in a variety of categories and they have something tangible to play for. While the Orange have been injured, beaten, and battered down over the last 11 games.

Give me the Demon Deacons in dominant fashion: 52-22 on Saturday.
