Well, it is a little early in the season but this week for the Syracuse Orange Football is it. In the world of no-limit Texas hold ‘em, it is time to push all-in.

For those non-poker players out there, it is time to put up or shut up. Our mouths have written a check and now it is time for our a** to cash it if you follow my drift. The pipe dream of a repeat of last season is in the distance of our rearview mirror and now we are driving the OITNF towards bowl eligibility.

This is a must-win for the Orange if SU wants to go bowling. The game on Thursday night is the most winnable game left on our schedule.

Here is the good news/bad news:

Good news: Tommy DeVito will start per Dino Babers.
Bad news: Tommy DeVito is starting. His play has been sporadic at best so he needs to find his groove.

The Wolfpacks defense is middle of the pack (no pun intended) at best so SU should have a chance for the New Fast to get rolling.

Bad news: the specialty of the Pack’s defense is rushing the passer, which if you haven’t noticed is SU’s weak spot.

Good news: NC State is starting a brand new quarterback.

Bad news: this is as a result of poor QB play and the new one may be able to provide a much-needed spark to them.

Onto the prediction.

This is a make or break game for the Orange. I am not overly confident about this one but like Chris Moneymaker, in the 2003 World Series of Poker said, we are going all in and ready to shock the world. I predict the Orange will win this game 28-26. As always Be Loud, Be Proud, Be ORANGE!
