That was a long bye week, but finally, we’re back. Now the schedule really starts to pick up for the Orange.

Syracuse didn’t start the season the way they wanted to, but even at 3-2, they have a chance to accomplish all their hopes and dreams, starting Thursday night vs NC State.

Prior to the season starting, this road trip on a short week appeared to be quite daunting, but now being on the cusp of this game, it is far less challenging.

The Wolfpack is embroiled in a quarterback controversy. In their last game vs Florida State, they used three different passers. Now their starting quarterback from the first five games (Matt McKay) is the third-string quarterback after a change.

This means the Orange will face Bailey Hockman who has no legitimate experience whatsoever. The backup quarterback will be freshman Devin Leary, again another passer with no legitimate experience.

This should be a coming-out party for the Syracuse football defense. No Wolfpack running back or receiver has eclipsed 300 yards rushing or receiving. With no superstar that can hurt the Orange, Syracuse should be able to feast.

The NC State game in 2018 was a swing game, it can be that again for the Orange in 2019. Give me Syracuse 31-19 on the road vs the Wolfpack.
