Syracuse football kicks off its ACC conference schedule in earnest vs NC State on Thursday. Here are some crystal ball predictions ahead of the contest.

Two 3-2 teams will enter Carter-Finley Stadium on Thursday night, only one team will come out above .500.

Syracuse football (3-2) has defeated the likes of Liberty, Western Michigan, and Holy Cross. While the NC State Wolfpack (3-2) has defeated East Carolina, Western Carolina, and Ball State.

Neither team has secured a staple win so far in 2019, but now with both squads entering the meaty ACC schedule, now is a better time than ever. Dino Babers in his Monday presser called this contest “a pivotal swing game for both programs.”

Per the ESPN FPI Analytics, NC State is favored to win by 59.2 percent and the vegas line has expanded to five points. It opened as a 4.5 point line.

Despite both of these teams having bye weeks in Week 6, there is a lot of injuries on each side. Neither ACC club will be at full strength when the teams square off in primetime.

So who will rise to the occasion and pull off the upset? Here are our full crystal ball predictions and how we think it’ll play out.
