The Syracuse Basketball team plays their 28th game of the season against ACC rival and No. 5 ranked North Carolina Tuesday evening. Inside The Loud House tells you how you can watch and listen to the game.
Syracuse basketball has a heck of a task ahead. The Orange are 18-9 overall and 9-5 in ACC play. They feel safe in the field right now, but crashing and burning in the last few games would put that in jeopardy. That being said of the last four games they have left, three are on the road. That starts with a road matchup versus North Carolina on Tuesday night.
The Orange are looking to bounce back after a close but tough loss at home in front of 35,000+ fans to Duke on Saturday evening. Their reward: a matchup with No. 5 North Carolina, on the road. That’s bad news as the Orange have yet to win at UNC since they joined the ACC in 2014, according to Orangehoops.org. In fact, the Orange have only won once in that span (since 2014) versus the Tar Heels and that was at home in the Carrier Dome in their first ACC matchup.
For Syracuse basketball, it is another huge opportunity for a big win, on the road no less, and give their NCAA tournament resume a huge boost that would cement them in the field for good. For North Carolina, Syracuse provides a chance to add another quality win to their resume for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and have bragging rights as a fan base over another.
The Orange will need to score a lot though if they want to keep up with the Tar Heels which are currently one of the hottest teams in the country. The Tar Heels score 87.1 points a game, while the Orange average 69.8 points a game, according to ESPN.com. It’s no wonder ESPN matchup predictor has the Orange losing by 11 points and only have a 10.1% chance of coming out of the Dean E. Smith Center with a win.

The good news is the Tar Heels average over 87 points a game, the Orange only allow 64.1 points per game. That just goes to show the Orange win games with their defense. So if Syracuse can make North Carolina play their game and slow the game down, the Orange may have a small chance of victory.
The Orange are a very talented bunch and seem to be playing well as a unit on both sides of the ball now as they head down the home stretch in ACC play. Their offensive shooting in the last 10 minutes of the Duke game is not indicative of how well they played overall. The Orange got plenty of quality looks, got to the bucket with ease over and over again, they just couldn’t finish. If they finish those same shots against UNC that could make the game closer than the Tar Heels expect.
