Syracuse Basketball Vs. Boston College (Game 2) : How to Watch and Listen
By Josh Peelman
The Syracuse Basketball team plays their 24th game of the season against Boston College at home in the Carrier Dome Saturday afternoon. Inside The Loud House tells you how you can catch the game.
Syracuse basketball has started ACC play with a bang going 7-3 in their last 10 games and beating No. 1 ranked Duke on the road as well during that stretch. Sure, they got blown out by Florida State at home last game, but that felt like more of an anomaly than anything else.
The Orange gave a good effort, it just wasn’t enough, and thus got blown out. Now the Orange finally get a breather of sorts at home against ACC cellar dweller Boston College on Saturday afternoon with a chance to right the ship.
The Eagles have struggled this year and are 11-10 overall and 2-7 in league play. They are not a horrible team by any stretch and can make any team earn a win, but they aren’t even close to being a tournament team at this stage. That means getting a victory against the Eagles at home is paramount to the Orange’s NCAA hopes; especially considering the tough upcoming schedule Syracuse has. That schedule has games against the likes of Louisville, Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina- just to name a few.
The Orange have played the Eagles already once this year a few games back and won 77-71, according to Cuse.com. Tyus Battle led the way with 31 points and six assists, and Elijah Hughes hit four of his ten shots from the field for 10 points, according to ESPN.com, to propel the Orange to victory on the road
Meanwhile Ky Bowman, Boston College’s star guard had 21 points and four assists to pair with Jordan Chatman’s 21 points. The Eagles played a tough game all around and went 9-22 from three, but it just wasn’t enough to hinder the unstoppable force that is Tyus Battle.
In that game Battle went into absolute beast mode down the stretch and no one could make a stop. On the night he finished an efficient 11-of-17 from the field and 4-of-8 from downtown. When he plays like that he is one of the best in nation. Here’s hoping we see more of this as ACC play rolls on.
In terms of the all-time series, Syracuse basketball leads 49-25 overall, and are 8-3 against Boston College since they joined the ACC, according to Orangehoops.org. In other words, Syracuse has been on another level for quite some time and have really dominated this rivalry.

That is one reason the Orange are projected to have a 87.8% chance of winning according to ESPN.com’s mathcup predictor. Another reason though is since the last time these two played, the Eagles have lost two straight in conference. In other words, Boston College hasn’t really improved much since the last time we faced them.
