The Syracuse football squad will take to the road for the final time this season at Louisville. ITLH breaks down if the Orange can get the job done.

For the first time this season I go into a game without much hope. It’s an odd fit and I don’t like it at all. SU just gave up over 700 yards to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, only the lord I believe in knows how many SU could give up to Lamar Jackson and company.

With that being said, I don’t suffer from long term memory loss, I still have a few more years until that becomes a regular occurrence. With that being said the SU defense up until last week had been impeccable all season, what the hell happened last week? I suggest a bad day at the office.

So now the Orange have their proverbial backs against the wall with no margin for error. I’m sure I share the same sentiment as the rest of my crew that my brain tells me one thing and my heart suggest another. This time I’m going with the brain: SU loses 37 to 21 and with that their bowl hopes are extinct.

The SU football outfit hopes to get back to its winning ways when it travels to Louisville this Saturday afternoon. The Orange (4-6, 2-4) is on a bit of a skid, while the Cardinals (6-4, 3-4) have performed fairly solid of late.

Syracuse has to prevail to keep its slim bowl aspirations alive. Unfortunately, on the road, against a diesel quarterback in Lamar Jackson, I expect the ‘Cuse to collect a loss. My crystal ball says that UL bests SU, 42-28. I sincerely hope that I’m wrong!

Well here we are up against the ropes with a record of 4-6 on the ropes on a 3 game losing streak. A far cry from where we were a month ago coming off a program defining win over the defending National Champions.

This is familiar territory for the Orange on the road, 14 points underdogs to Louisville who is also having a disappointing campaign. I just can’t bring myself to pick against this Team.

Eric Dungey reminds me of Rocky Balboa just keeps coming and never gives up. Well Louisville is the Russian and we will prevail 38-35. Be Loud be proud be Orange

Rain is in the forecast in Louisville for this Saturday. The last two times Dino Babers and his Syracuse offense have played in the rain they looked terrible, in Miami and at Wake Forest last year. I don’t expect the offense to get much going in those conditions. If Syracuse’s defense can’t contain John Wolford, I doubt they can contain Lamar Jackson. Cards win easily 49 to 17

Syracuse football did pretty well against Wake Forest with Zack Mahoney filling in for injured starting quarterback Eric Dungey. Unfortunately, his efforts came up short as the defense couldn’t hold anything last week.

Expect the screws to be tightened by Saturdays game as Dino Babers leads his squad to Louisville. The Orange need to win both of the next two games to be bowl eligible, so a lot is on the line for the Orange. Based on recent reports, it’s unlikely Dungey will suit up again this week as he’s considered a game time decision once again.

Without him, and maybe even with him, I think the Orange still lose. Louisville has had their ups and downs this year, but right now their back up. Had we faced them earlier this year I believe we could have beaten them but now I’m not so sure. The Orange have yet to win on the road this season, let alone against a talented team like the Cardinals. I think the Orange keep it interesting for a half if Mahoney plays, and close if Dungey plays, but still fall short of a win. Sadly, I think Louisville wins 35-24.
