From all the Syracuse football fans that I heard from, the message is clear. It’s time for SU to put their money where their mouth is. ITLH breaks it down.

In case you missed it, the Syracuse football team got one of the biggest wins in program history. We can argue about where it ranks among some of the greats in due time.

Although something that can’t be argued is the overall message leaving this thrilling 27 to 24 victory over the Clemson Tigers. SU is back!

No not back as a National Championship contender quite yet, but they’re back in the conversation. People are talking about Syracuse literally everywhere. We documented that journey on Monday morning in our featured column.

But there’s something else people are talking about after that program changing victory. Has SU attracted unwanted attention?

In an interview on Mike and Mike, HC Dino Babers talked about the win and what it meant for all his players. But after the boys hung up on the coach, they discussed the potential of Babers moving on to greener pastures.

It’s the fear among every Orange fan on planet Earth. Is Syracuse just a stepping stone? Is it inevitable coach leaves? Who knows. I will tell you one thing, SU must be proactive in its’ attempts to keep Babers here for the foreseeable future.

The hashtag, #PayDino is already trending on Twitter and for good reason.

Taking the Orange colored sunglasses off, SU isn’t the No. 1 job on the planet. Which means that there’ll always be a better job out there. If you look long enough, you may visualize greener pastures.

It’s up to Syracuse University to at the very least do their part. Give Babers the maximum amount

of money you can afford, sell him on being the Jim Boeheim equivalent of the football program.

A literal local legend. He’ll never have to pay for a meal in town. Babers will be beloved by the fanbase, the expectations will never be National Championship or bust. Winning seven to nine games every year is all SU fans want.

They desperately want to be relevant again. We talked about it earlier, it’s about being in the conversation. Babers has moved all around the States from his birthplace of Hawaii to a variety of different college locations.

While it’s time to settle down and enjoy the fruits of your systematic labor in Orange is the New Fast. SU loves you and we’ll embrace you forever.

In closing, if SU loses Babers to a better job, there’s not much we can complain about. Although if we lose Babers over money or contract status, that’s something we’ll go to our graves with. It’s time for the University and relatively new AD John Wildhack to write the blank check to keep Babers in Orange.

The years and money on the contract are irrelevant because any program who wants Babers will pay whatever it takes to free him of his shackles. So if Babers ‘supposed demands’ are in fact in SU’s price range there shouldn’t be a question about paying up.

Don’t want to harp on it too much, but Babers leaving would be demoralizing for this program. Not only because SU would be searching for another coach in such a short amount of time. But it would crush this perception that the Orange are building something here.

If Babers leaves, his coaching staff leaves, likely all the recruits he made promises to would leave, and the Orange would be left with nothing but a fading memory. While lets try to celebrate this win with a tempered focus and hope that the Orange do everything in their power to keep their ring leader in the loud house for the foreseeable future.
