On Sunday afternoon at the JMA Wireless Dome, Syracuse women's basketball held its senior day while also honoring its 2015-16 team that reached the NCAA Tournament's national championship game.

Those were wonderful sentiments, and the Orange also took care of business on the court against Boston College. The 'Cuse shook off its 10-point road loss to Notre Dame this past Thursday evening, as Syracuse women's basketball cruised past the Eagles, 90-65.

Freshman center Uche Izoje led the SU charge, finishing with 24 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. It was the 13th double-double so far in the 2025-26 campaign for Izoje, who should be the leading contender to win the Atlantic Coast Conference rookie of the year award this season.

Senior guard Laila Phelia chipped in 11 points, while graduate student guard Dominique Darius added 10 points. The Orange's 2025-26 regular season is over. The 'Cuse is 22-7 overall and 12-6 in ACC contests.

Up next for Syracuse women's basketball will be the ACC Tournament, which runs from March 4 to March 8 at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, Ga., near Atlanta. At this point, the 'Cuse should feel good about its chances to receive a bid to the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

Syracuse women's basketball had no problem beating Boston College.

On Sunday, in its lopsided triumph over the Eagles (5-26 overall, 1-17 in ACC), the Orange connected on 49.3 percent from the field, 31.6 percent from beyond the arc and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line. Boston College made 34.9 percent from the field, 10.5 percent from 3-point land and an impressive 95.0 percent from the charity stripe.

In other statistical categories, the 'Cuse led 56-25 in total rebounds, 21-7 in offensive rebounds, 35-18 in defensive rebounds, 24-11 in assists, 35-22 in bench points, 8-1 in blocks, 16-12 in points off turnovers, 56-34 in paint points and a whopping 28-4 in second chance points.

Each squad had five steals. The Eagles led 15-9 in turnovers forced and 18-9 in fast-break points. This season has been special for Syracuse women's basketball and its tremendous head coach, Felisha Legette-Jack. Let's see if SU can go on a long post-season run that stretches into late March or even early April.
