Syracuse basketball has added another center to its 2026-27 roster, with head coach Gerry McNamara heading overseas again for this latest commit.

Per a post on X from Jonathan Givony, founder of the media outlet DraftExpress, the Orange has landed a pledge from Abdramane Siby, a 19-year-old who is originally from Mali.

The 7-foot Siby has a 7-foot-6 wingspan, according to Givony, who says of this new 'Cuse commit, "Highly impactful defender with significant long-term upside." Givony adds that Siby "leads the Adriatic League in block percentage."

A huge congrats and welcome from Orange Nation to Abdramane! In the 2025-26 season, he has been competing for Mega Superbet, a professional team based in Belgrade, Serbia, that is part of the Adriatic Basketball Association.

In 2025-26, Siby has averaged 14.4 minutes, 3.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while connecting on 61.4 percent from the field and 81.0 percent from the free-throw line.

In other recent seasons, his minutes and production were higher, as you'll see in this article from 247Sports. It's important to note that in the 2025-26 campaign, Abdramane was playing in a league with tougher competition than in other recent terms, according to reports.

Syracuse basketball has bolstered its front-court with an international center.

With Siby on board, McNamara and his assistants have added depth at center. Amid the transfer portal opening on April 7 and running through April 21, the Orange also recently landed a commitment from transfer big man Tasman Goodrick, a junior from Siena.

McNamara, last week, also landed another international prospect in Mark Morano Mahmutovic, a 2026 four-star wing from Slovenia. Even with Siby and Goodrick on SU's 2026-27 roster, it's likely that the 'Cuse staff will aim for another power forward and another center.

Here's the team's 2026-27 roster to date:
•Ryan Moesch, a 2026 four-star point guard from Central New York
•Mark Morano Mahmutovic, a 2026 four-star wing from Slovenia
•Center Abdramane Siby, a 2026 prospect from Mali
•Freshman guard Kiyan Anthony
•Freshman forward Sadiq White Jr.
•Freshman wing Calvin Russell III
•Sophomore guard Noah Lobdell
•Sophomore guard Aiden Tobiason, a four-star transfer from Temple
•Junior guard Garwey Dual, a four-star transfer from McNeese State
•Sophomore guard Gavin Doty, a four-star transfer from Siena
•Junior power forward/center Tasman Goodrick, a transfer from Siena
