Syracuse football's running back room in the team's 2027 class is undergoing a big re-shuffling.

On Tuesday night, 2027 three-star running back/athlete Sa'Nir Brooks out of the powerhouse Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore said that he was de-committing from the Orange and reopening his recruitment.

He didn't provide further details in his post on X. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Brooks had verbally pledged to head coach Fran Brown and the 'Cuse program this past January. Wishing Sa'Nir all the best moving forward!

Meanwhile, 2027 four-star running back Xavier Bala out of Saint Anthony's High School in South Huntington, N.Y., could be on the move to another Atlantic Coast Conference program. Bala verbally committed to the 'Cuse in early May of this year.

However, fresh off an official visit to Boston College last weekend, rumors are swirling about a possible flip from the Orange to the Eagles. Currently, there are at least three predictions on 247Sports projecting that Bala will flip to Boston College.

So, where does that leave Syracuse football with RBs in 2027?

As far as I can tell, the 'Cuse coaching staff is focused on several other 2027 running backs, namely, four-star Elijah Kimble out of Canisius High School in Buffalo, N.Y., and three-star Tylek Lewis out of Zachary High School in Zachary, La.

Kimble took an official visit to the Hill in late May. He's coming off an official visit to fellow ACC school North Carolina last weekend, and per recruiting services, Kimble appears to be taking an official visit to UConn this coming weekend. The top-250 national prospect, according to ESPN, has said that Syracuse football is high up in his recruitment.

Lewis was part of the contingent of 2027 players who officially visited the 'Cuse this past weekend. After his trip to Central New York, he said to 247Sports that the Orange was on top in his recruitment.

According to recruiting services, Lewis has upcoming official visits planned to Arkansas and then Kansas State. Let's see if those trips end up happening. Perhaps the Syracuse football staff could secure a verbal commitment from Lewis before then.

There's a lot of movement these days with 2027 prospects as they take official visits to the 'Cuse and many other schools. At this juncture, if I had to venture a guess, I'd say that SU's 2027 RB room will feature Kimble or Lewis, and possibly both of them.
