Well the ACC Women's Basketball Tournament brackets are out and the Orange are in. Syracuse will play their first -ound game on Wednesday at 1 pm on the ACC Network or local radio and the Varsity streaming network.

The Orange will face the Boston College Eagles, a team they lost to 92-51 on the road in January but finished out the season beating 82-57 at home on Senior Night this past Sunday. Both teams finished 6-12 in the ACC so you can expect a tightly fought matchup on Wednesday in neutral territory.

If they can beat the Eagles, their next opponent will be North Carolina (whom they lost to 68-58 last month in the Dome) and then should they win that, the Florida State Seminoles await the Orange, who also beat the Orange earlier this season 85-73 at FSU. And with all that and Syracuse finishing the season with a 12-17 record overall, some may be counting them out. My advice: don't!

This is a team coming off of two solid wins (they also beat Pitt on Thursday 83-65). This is a team with a player like Sophie Burrows who is showing she might be the future of this program. This is a team with SIX players who were honored on Senior Night who are playing with their collegiate careers on the line because one loss and this season and their time at SU is over (though Lexi McNabb does have eligibility left should she choose to return after graduating in the spring).

Syracuse women's basketball is headed to the ACC Tournament in Greensboro, N.C.

And no offense to those other teams but with players like Kyra Wood, Georgia Woolley, Dominque Camp, Saniaa Wilson and Izabel Varejao facing those kind of odds, I would not count them out. I mean aside from Sophie, Georgia Woolley had been a points leader for this team much of the season and Kyra Wood is a double-double machine often and along with Varejao, have at times been rebounding machines when needed.

And again, Camp and Wilson also have been contributors when Syracuse Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack needed it. Camp is coming off an injury that cost her last season but also helped the Orange to a victory against Virginia Tech earlier this season.

This is not a team to take lightly. This not a team that you can look at their record and count them out. This is not a team that won't compete. This is a talented team that will play hard leaving it all out on the court and when healthy and playing on all cylinders, can play with anyone.

This is a dangerous team aware that the only way this season can continue at this point is to win because their next loss will be their last of the season and the only ticket to an NCAA Tournament bid is to shock the world and win the whole thing at the ACC Tournament.

And I don't know about you but when I see someone determined and talented, I refuse to count them out of any game they play. And I personally am looking forward to rooting on the Orange this Wednesday and for however long this season remains at play. I love Coach Jack and I think this team has the ability to do anything they put their heart and soul into, and it all starts this Wednesday in Greensboro, N.C.

Let's Go Orange!
