All of the losses for the Syracuse Orange this season might be contagious to the program’s alumni. Several of the teams of former Syracuse players in the NFL took a loss this past weekend. However, there were some interesting storylines to follow, so let’s recap the performance of former Orange players in week 14 of the NFL season.
Zaire Franklin, Colts
Things are going from bad to worse for Franklin and the Colts. As usual, Franklin was one of Indy’s best defensive players on Sunday, collecting a team-high seven tackles, albeit in a 36-19 loss to the Jaguars, giving the Colts four straight losses.
LeQuint Allen, Jaguars
Allen played a small role in giving Franklin and the Colts that lopsided loss. He didn’t get any carries but did make two catches for eight yards, while continuing to be used as a blocker. While the two didn’t play together at Syracuse, they shared a nice moment together after the game.

Ifeatu Melifonwu, Dolphins
While his former Syracuse teammate is still on IR, Melifonwu was active and had a big game against Andre Cisco’s Jets on Sunday. He finished the game with three tackles, all solo tackles, including a sack in Miami’s 34-10 blowout of the Jets.
Garrett Williams, Cardinals
Williams had to endure another tough loss for the Cardinals, who lost to the Rams 45-17. The Arizona secondary was torched by Puka Nacua and company, leading to Williams making six tackles in the game.
Sean Tucker, Buccaneers
With Bucky Irving back, Tucker is back to being the third running back for the Bucs, who suffered their fourth loss in the last five games. The bright side for Tucker is that he still got seven carries, gaining 29 yards, including a one-yard touchdown run that briefly gave Tampa the lead in the third quarter of a 24-20 loss to the Saints.

Riley Dixon, Buccaneers
Despite scoring just 20 points, the Bucs only asked Riley Dixon to punt the ball once on Sunday. The one punt was just 31 yards but did pin the Saints inside the 20-yard line.
Andre Szmyt, Browns
The Browns suffered a disappointing loss to the Titans on a botched two-point conversion. Before that, Szmyt did his part, making both of his PATs and hitting a 38-yard field goal, as he continues his steady 2025 campaign.
Oronde Gadsden, Chargers
It was another slow night for Gadsden on Monday Night Football. He had just one catch for seven yards, as the Chargers won an ugly overtime game over the Eagles. On the bright side, he did have four targets in the game, with Justin Herbert throwing in his direction but missing at times. Despite the drop in productivity, Gadsden still ranks among the leading rookies in receiving yards.
