So since the NCAA denied the plans to hold a joint spring practice with Syracuse football and Colorado and we hold out hopes they come to their senses for one in 2026, the original plan for the Syracuse spring game and activities will take place on Saturday.

And while I am disappointed in the NCAA's lack of vision and desire for two programs to build up their programs, this is still a fun opportunity for fans of all ages and passion.

If you want to watch the spring game itself, you have to reserve your tickets here and don't worry, they are free of charge. It is a fun time to sit with your family or friends and just watch the future players you will be watching in the fall including new players to the team.

Also oftentimes, former players come back to watch and support the team so you might even see some familiar faces especially since Syracuse coach Fran Brown has stated many times he welcomes former players back with open arms.

The Syracuse football annual spring game is coming up.

Or if you are like me and have family members who maybe don't match your passion to watch the games but are willing to meet you halfway and partake in some fun activities, this is your year. As stated on the SU Athletics Web site and the social media, this year's plans include family-friendly and fan-friendly activities on the quad (one of my favorite places on Earth outside of the Dome itself).

So the festivities will start at around 10 am with DJ EJ, food trucks and family-oriented activities that I am hoping will keep my two-year-old grandson and his mother entertained while my son and I try to enjoy the football side of things.

And for those of you like my son and I, shortly before 1 pm, the team and staff will do their quad walk, taking around 45 minutes to sign autographs and meet with us fans. The Cuse official site says you will be allowed one item for them to sign if you choose to bring something or hopefully you can get a poster they plan to have available.

In my eyes, this is a huge opportunity to include younger fans coming from a guy who became a fan at a young age who absolutely would have loved having an autographed poster on my wall as a kid or the opportunity to meet players.

So I hope fans will show up and show their support if they can and if the weather allows (this is still spring in Syracuse, by the way). It's a fun chance to see the new quarterback options in person, watch Trebor Pena make a catch you wouldn't expect and see how awesome the mustache game will be on Jack Stonehouse this season on his way to being one of the best punters in college football.
