Okay, this story is personal to me, because I'm an identical twin (and we both are Syracuse University graduates).

Syracuse football is among several schools recruiting twins Adrian Woodward and Amiir Woodward hard. They are four-star defensive backs/athletes in the 2028 class from New Jersey, which is a key recruiting market for head coach Fran Brown and his staff.

The Woodward twins attend Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J., which went 8-3 overall in the 2025 season and was ranked No. 3 in New Jersey, according to MaxPreps.

The head coach of Bergen Catholic is Vito Campanile, who is the brother of Nunzio Campanile. Nunzio Campanile had been an assistant coach for the 'Cuse, although ESPN's Pete Thamel recently reported Campanile is preparing to join UConn, an independent in football, as the team's new offensive coordinator.

According to their X page, the twins hold 25 Division I scholarship offers. Those offers have come from schools such as Boston College, Duke, Florida, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Minnesota, Rutgers, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Penn State, Vanderbilt and UCF, among others.

Currently, teams recruiting the Woodward brothers hard, besides the Orange, include Rutgers and Miami. While it's relatively early in their recruiting processes, the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine has Rutgers, a hometown team, out in front for the twins, who are also excellent track and field sprinters.

Syracuse football is prioritizing 2028 four-star prospects Adrian Woodward and Amiir Woodward.

The 'Cuse staff offered a scholarship to the Woodward twins in January of this year. They visited the Orange program this past March, according to a post on X.

Two important points to note in Syracuse football's recruitment of the Woodward twins. One is that Brown, before joining the 'Cuse, served as the defensive backs coach at Southeastern Conference powerhouse Georgia.

Secondly, the Orange has a new defensive backs coach, Perry Eliano. Most recently, he was the cornerbacks coach at Toledo. Previously, Eliano coached the safeties at Ohio State and the cornerbacks at Cincinnati. He also served as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Bowling Green.

The Woodward brothers are highly ranked in the 2028 class. Per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Adrian Woodward is No. 101 overall, No. 9 at cornerback and No. 6 in New Jersey. Amiir Woodward, by extension, is No. 33 nationally, No. 3 at cornerback and No. 3 in New Jersey.

To date, the Orange has one verbal commit in its 2028 cycle. He is offensive tackle Omari Lawson out of the Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla. The 6-foot-6, 265-pound Lawson verbally pledged to Syracuse football in late October of this year.
