Alabama may have analyst buzz for elite 2027 quarterback Elijah Haven, but trust me, that doesn't faze Syracuse football head coach Fran Brown.
On Wednesday, Brown offered a scholarship to the 6-foot-5, 215-pound Haven, who, according to 247Sports, is the No. 2 national prospect, the No. 1 quarterback and the No. 1 player from Louisiana in the 2027 class.

Virtually all the main recruiting services place the five-star Haven as the No. 1 signal-caller in the high school junior cycle. He is No. 9 overall via ESPN and No. 14 nationwide, according to the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking.
As part of the Orange's top-10 national class in the 2027 cycle, the 'Cuse has a verbal pledge from three-star quarterback Justin Dixon of the Concordia Preparatory School in Towson, Md. However, it's not uncommon to take two signal-callers in the same class, and if the Syracuse football staff has any realistic shot at landing Haven, the Orange has to go for it.
Syracuse football is trying to get into the mix for 2027 5-star QB Elijah Haven.
Haven is a standout junior at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, La. In the recently completed campaign, Dunham went 13-1 overall and captured the Louisiana High School Athletic Association ("LHSAA") Division III Select state championship.
On Wednesday, MaxPreps named Haven its 2025 player of the year in Louisiana. He had a ridiculous junior term. Haven completed 72.3 percent of his passes for 3,931 yards with a whopping 62 touchdowns against seven interceptions. He also rushed 127 times for 794 yards and 11 more scores on the ground.
Besides the Orange and Alabama, per 247Sports, Haven's full scholarship offer sheet includes schools such as Florida, Georgia, LSU, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, SMU and Texas Tech, among others.
When I wrote this article on Wednesday night, there was a prediction on 247Sports in Alabama's direction for Haven. The Crimson Tide also has three projections in its favor for Haven on Rivals.
Still, as it pertains to top-flight high school prospects and their recruitments, I'd never count out Fran Brown.
