On Wednesday, the traditional signing period commenced among high school seniors, although I wasn't anticipating a ton of activity for Syracuse football, given that the Orange officially inked a large 2025 class during the early signing period that transpired from December 4 to December 6 of last year.

However, one intriguing prospect did officially sign with the 'Cuse on Wednesday, and his name is Tylik Hill. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound Hill, a three-star running back/athlete, put forth an absolutely stellar senior year for his program in New Jersey, leading to Hill garnering all kinds of awards and honors.

The Orange staff, led by ace recruiter and head coach Fran Brown, offered a scholarship to Hill in mid-December of 2024, per his X page. He verbally committed to Syracuse football in late December, according to media reports, and now Hill is officially Orange.

A huge congrats and welcome from 'Cuse Nation to Tylik!

Syracuse football has a sizable 2025 recruiting class.

Hill is a standout with Pope John XXIII Regional High School in Sparta, N.J. As we all know, Brown and several other Orange coaches hail from New Jersey, too, and the Garden State has proven a recruiting focus for the Syracuse football staff.

Per a post on his X page, as a senior in the 2024 season, Hill rushed for 2,336 yards, hauled in 112 receiving yards, passed for 118 yards (and one score), collected 27 total touchdowns, made 14 solo tackles and also had an interception. That's ridiculous.

According to recruiting services, besides Syracuse football, Hill held a scholarship offer from UMass. Within the 2025 class, 247Sports places Hill as three stars, No. 125 at running back and No. 43 in New Jersey.

Let's be real, though. This young man can flat-out play, regardless of what his current recruiting rankings are.

At this juncture, the Orange has 35 signees at the high school level within its large 2025 class. At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite had the team's prep cycle in 2025 at No. 41 overall, and it arrived at No. 38 nationwide via Rivals.com.

The 'Cuse also has at least seven pledges from college transfers in its 2025 class, with the latest being from California linebacker/edge rusher David Reese, who is a three-star portal prospect and has one season of college eligibility left.
