Syracuse basketball is reportedly among the schools that have shown some level of interest in a three-star transfer forward who was the freshman of the year in his conference this past season.

Per a post on X from Tobin McDuff, the sports director at KFDX in Wichita Falls, Texas, the Orange has an interest in transfer forward Keitenn Bristow, a freshman at Western Athletic Conference member Tarleton State.

Other college programs that have reached out to the 6-foot-8, 190-pound Bristow include Alabama, Cincinnati, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas and Xavier, among others, according to McDuff.

The current transfer portal window in college basketball, by the way, runs through April 22. At the time of this writing, the 'Cuse has secured commitments from at least four college transfers.

Syracuse basketball likely remains on the hunt for more roster additions.

As we look ahead to the Orange's 2025-26 season, the 'Cuse currently has 10 scholarship players, with five scholarships still available. The biggest positions of need remaining for the program, from my perspective, could include another point guard/combo guard, a 3-point specialist out on the wing, a forward and a combo power forward/center.

Bristow, who hails from Holliday, Texas, was excellent in his freshman stanza for Tarleton State, which went 12-20 overall in the 2024-25 campaign. Per ESPN statistics, he averaged 26.4 minutes, 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks per contest while making 46.1 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 79.6 percent from the free-throw line.

In March, Bristow was named the 2024-25 WAC freshman of the year and also to that league's All-Freshman team.

When I wrote this piece on Wednesday, in its national transfer rankings, 247Sports placed Bristow as three stars, No. 341 overall and No. 62 at power forward.

Per reports and comments from recruiting analysts, those college transfers who have heard from Syracuse basketball coaches this off-season include Florida State sophomore forward Jerry Deng, Monmouth redshirt sophomore forward Jaret Valencia, Arizona sophomore guard KJ Lewis, Cal State Northridge senior small forward Keonte Jones, UNLV sophomore point guard Dedan Thomas Jr., Dayton redshirt junior point guard Malachi Smith, Georgia sophomore guard Silas Demary Jr., Arkansas State junior guard Derrian Ford, Clemson freshman guard Del Jones, Robert Morris junior guard/forward Amarion Dickerson, North Dakota junior guard Treysen Eaglestaff, North Dakota State senior guard Jacari White and Drexel junior guard Kobe Magee.
