It's early in his recruitment, but one of the schools showing an interest in five-star Mason Collins is Syracuse basketball.

That's according to a recent article from 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London, who spoke with Collins' dad and high school head coach, Mardy Collins, about his son's recruitment.

Mason Collins is a five-star wing/small forward and a top-10 national prospect in the 2028 class. All the main recruiting services place the 6-foot-6 Collins in the top 10 overall of this cycle. His highest national ranking comes courtesy of ESPN, at No. 6.

Collins plays for his dad, a former star at Temple who played in the NBA, at The Tatnall School in Wilmington, Del. Per this story from cityofbasketballlove.com, Collins' mom is former Temple star Ariana Moore, who is the director of operations at women's basketball powerhouse South Carolina.

On the AAU circuit, Collins suits up for the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Team CP3 in Nike's EYBL league. He is originally from Columbia, S.C.

College coaches can't start initiating direct communication with 2028 prospects until mid-June of this year, so Collins' recruitment will likely take off then, if not sooner. For now, he has scholarship offers from South Carolina (understandably) and Virginia.

Teams showing an interest in Collins include the 'Cuse, Duke, Villanova, Clemson and Notre Dame, among others, according to the 247Sports report. It wouldn't be a surprise at all if Syracuse basketball coaches ultimately offer him a scholarship.

In early June of last year, Collins played a key role off the bench in helping lead the USA Basketball U16 national team to a gold medal at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup in Juarez, Mexico. He averaged 10.0 points, 3.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game.

During last year's EYBL regular season for Team CP3 in the 15U division, Collins averaged 12.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists per contest. In July of 2025, at the EYBL's season-ending Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C., he averaged 11.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.

To date, Syracuse basketball coaches have offered a scholarship to at least 13 prospects in the 2028 class. They are:
•Guard Nico Antoniacci of Riverside Junior/Senior High School in Taylor, Pa.
•Four-star guard Ian Archbold of the Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J.
