Syracuse basketball coaches are in pursuit of 2027 four-star wing Munir Greig, a top-30 national prospect in his class, according to recruiting analysts.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard/small forward picked up a scholarship offer from the former 'Cuse staff in December of last year, per his Instagram page. According to analysts, these days, Syracuse basketball is among the college programs that are prioritizing Greig in this cycle.

This weekend, from May 15 to May 17, it has been a live period on the AAU circuits. The Orange staff is out and about watching recruiting targets. It's not clear to me if 'Cuse coaches have been in for Greig. He is competing for the 17U team of the Los Angeles-based All In Elite in the Under Armour Association ("UAA") league.

The UAA's session this weekend has taken place at the Spooky Nook Champion Mill in Hamilton, Ohio, near Cincinnati. Per box scores on the UAA Web site, in one game, Greig tallied 11 points and five rebounds. In a second contest, he generated 13 points, 11 boards, three assists, two steals and one block.

Besides the Orange, Greig's scholarship offer sheet includes teams such as Oklahoma State, Villanova, SMU, Mississippi State, UNLV and Virginia Tech.

Syracuse basketball has offered several 2027 prospects of late.

In the 2025-26 season, Greig was excellent in helping lead Coronado High School in Henderson, Nev., to a 17-8 overall record and the Class 5A state championship. As a junior, he averaged 15.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.7 steals per encounter while connecting on 48 percent from the field, 40 percent from beyond the arc and 77 percent from the free-throw line.

For his performance in 2025-26, Greig was named the player of the year in Nevada by both MaxPreps and Gatorade. Previously, he was a standout player at Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, Pa.

Within the 2027 class, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite places Greig at No. 36 overall, No. 9 at small forward and No. 1 in Nevada. ESPN has him at No. 27 nationally, while over at the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, Greig is No. 31 overall, No. 6 at shooting guard and No. 1 in Nevada.

The new Syracuse basketball staff, led by first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, is starting to ramp up its high school recruiting efforts. Other prep prospects for Orange fans to monitor include 2027 five-star point guard King Gibson, 2027 four-star wing Markus Kerr, 2027 four-star shooting guard RJ Moore, 2027 five-star point guard Nasir Anderson and 2027 four-star center Caleb Ourigou, among others.
