Syracuse basketball has reached out to transfer guard Emarquis Jones, who plays at the Division II level and can really shoot it from the perimeter.
That's according to the X account GREENLIGHT MEDIA, which notes that the Orange and UTSA are the latest to reach out to the 6-foot-6, 200-pound Jones, who in the 2025-26 season was a junior at Division II Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, Del.

Jones, who hails from Brooklyn, N.Y., was named to the All-CACC third team as a junior. He averaged 13.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.9 steals per contest while making 51.6 percent from the field, 44.7 percent from beyond the arc and 69.0 percent from the free-throw line.
In the 2025-26 stanza, Jones scored at least 20 points in five games. Here's an in-depth write-up on Jones that was posted to collegedelawaresportsblitz.com earlier this month. According to GREENLIGHT MEDIA, Jones didn't start playing organized basketball until his senior year of high school.
Syracuse basketball has several scholarships left.
The Orange's roster for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign features:
•Ryan Moesch, a 2026 four-star point guard from Central New York
•Mark Morano Mahmutovic, a 2026 four-star wing from Slovenia
•Abdramane Siby, a 2026 center from Mali
•Freshman guard Kiyan Anthony
•Freshman forward Sadiq White Jr.
•Freshman wing Calvin Russell III
•Sophomore guard Noah Lobdell
•Sophomore guard Aiden Tobiason, a four-star transfer from Temple
•Junior guard Garwey Dual, a four-star transfer from McNeese State
•Sophomore guard Gavin Doty, a four-star transfer from Siena
•Junior power forward/center Tasman Goodrick, a three-star transfer from Siena
•Redshirt sophomore center Luke Wilson, a four-star transfer from Appalachian State
Wilson committed to the 'Cuse on Tuesday. Syracuse basketball coaches may want to add another guard, such as Jones, to provide additional backcourt depth and another 3-point specialist. On paper, SU's 2026-27 roster looks like it could be lacking in shooting from beyond the arc, although Mahmutovic is an excellent sniper from long range.
