Syracuse basketball coaches recently offered a scholarship to 2028 four-star Canadian wing Isaiah Hamilton, according to his Instagram page.
He's one of at least 11 prospects in the high school sophomore cycle who have picked up an Orange offer to date. The 6-foot-7 Hamilton, an ultra-talented shooting guard/small forward, is a candidate for the No. 1 overall spot in the 2028 cycle, some national analysts and scouts have said.
According to his Instagram account, Hamilton's early offer sheet includes schools such as Syracuse basketball, Arizona State, St. Bonaventure, Oregon, Villanova, Louisiana, Long Island University, Georgia Tech, Missouri and UC Santa Barbara.
Hamilton's offer list will undeniably grow. For one, on June 15 of next year, the contact period for the 2028 cycle will open, enabling college coaches to initiate direct communication with prospects in this class.

On Tuesday, Rivals unveiled its initial top 75 in the 2028 cycle. Hamilton arrived at No. 8 overall and No. 3 at shooting guard. He's also No. 28 via the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking.
Not all recruiting services will have Hamilton in their 2028 rankings, because they may not evaluate prospects from outside the United States.
Hamilton is a sophomore at the Crestwood Preparatory College in Toronto. That's the same program as former Syracuse basketball target Elijah Fisher, a guard who has bounced around a bit in college and now plays for Seton Hall in the Big East Conference.
In the latest AAU season, Hamilton turned heads as he starred for the 15U team of the Toronto-based Canada Elite in the Under Armour Association league. Per Synergy Basketball, during the most recent Under Armour Association campaign, Hamilton was one of the most prolific dunkers across all divisions, not just 15U.

Experts note that Hamilton is a supremely gifted, explosive athlete. He can do a thunderous dunk in one play and then knock down a 3-pointer on the next offensive series.
In June, at the 2025 FIBA U16 AmeriCup in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, Hamilton was lights out for Team Canada, which captured the silver medal. In the final game, the United States defeated Canada, and Hamilton didn't play after suffering an injury during Canada’s semifinal triumph over Venezuela.
