On Thursday morning, the X account HoopDirt.com noted a job posting at Syracuse for the program's director of basketball operations.
Currently, Peter Corasaniti serves as the Orange's director of operations and an assistant coach. He was named Syracuse basketball's director of operations in July of 2019. Corasaniti is a 2014 graduate of SU.

Given that job posting, which is also listed on sujobopps.com, I asked a Syracuse basketball spokesperson on Thursday if Corasaniti remains on the Orange coaching staff under new head coach Gerry McNamara.
Corasaniti, by the way, is still listed on cuse.com as the team's director of operations/assistant coach. The spokesperson said to me via e-mail: "Peter Corasaniti is still a member of the Syracuse men’s basketball staff. Staff members and titles are still being worked out."
Since there is a job posting for Syracuse basketball's director of operations, it's logical to assume that perhaps Corasaniti will take on a new role for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The team spokesperson declined further comment.
Pete will be on staff in a new role.

I was "tagged" on X regarding this job posting from HoopDirt.com, along with others who cover Syracuse basketball. To that end, Syracuse.com's Mike Waters chimed in on X, "Pete (Corasaniti) will be on staff in a new role."
Syracuse basketball head coach Gerry McNamara is filling out his assistant staff.
I'm glad that Corasaniti remains on the Orange staff. He's a good guy. SU Athletics has officially announced four new assistant coaches under McNamara, who last month was hired to lead Syracuse basketball after serving as Siena's head coach for the past two campaigns.

Those new assistants are Arinze Onuaku, Ben Lee, Ryan Daly and Jamal Brunt. Onuaku and Lee previously were assistant coaches at Siena when GMac was at the helm. Daly, most recently, was an assistant coach at VCU, while Brunt comes to the Hill after serving as the associate head coach at Penn State.

McNamara has put together an excellent staff that includes a veteran college coach in Brunt along with rising stars in Lee, Daly and Onuaku. Plus, these assistants came from geographic markets that are key recruiting hotbeds for Syracuse basketball along the Northeast corridor.
The 'Cuse can have up to five assistant coaches, and SU should also have a general manager on staff at some point sooner rather than later. The rumor mill on social media and in chat rooms is that another Siena assistant, Ryan Blackwell, could join Syracuse basketball in a similar role.
For what it's worth, on the Siena athletics department Web site, Blackwell is no longer listed as part of the men's basketball coaching staff. Syracuse Athletics has yet to officially announce anything regarding Blackwell or any other assistant coaches for the men's hoops program.
