Syracuse basketball, so far this off-season, has secured commitments from four college transfers. Two of them, most recently, placed for fellow Atlantic Coast Conference school Georgia Tech.

On Sunday, word broke, according to multiple media reports, that the Orange had scored a pledge from Ibrahim Souare, a redshirt freshman big man with the Yellow Jackets who is originally from Conakry, Guinea.

A huge congrats and welcome from 'Cuse Nation to Ibrahim!

Per his bio on the Georgia Tech athletics department Web site, Souare is listed at 6-foot-9 and 225 pounds. He has a 7'2" wingspan and a 30" vertical. For the Orange beginning with the 2025-26 season, my sense is that Souare will be able to suit up at both power forward and center.

Syracuse basketball got a boost to its front-court.

Following the 2024-25 campaign, the 'Cuse roster saw several power forwards and centers move on, whether due to their collegiate eligibility being up or electing to hit the transfer portal, whose current window began on March 24 and runs through April 22.

As Georgia Tech went 17-17 overall during 2024-25, Souare averaged 17.0 minutes, 2.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest while making 59.7 percent from the field but just 31.3 percent from the free-throw line.

According to his 2024-25 game log on the ESPN Web site, Souare saw his court time significantly increase as the most recent campaign carried on. He provides nice additional depth at the power forward and center spots for Syracuse basketball.

As a member of the 2023 prep class, Souare played for a well-known program, the Canyon International Academy in Glendale, Ariz., per information from the Yellow Jackets.

Beyond Souare, the Orange's transfer portal class this off-season includes Georgia Tech sophomore point guard Naithan George (rated four stars), UCLA junior power forward/center William Kyle lll (rated three stars) and Oregon State redshirt junior guard/wing Nate Kingz (rated four stars).

Here's the 'Cuse 2025-26 roster to date. It features 10 players, with five scholarships still available:
Guards
J.J. Starling
Naithan George
Kiyan Anthony
Luke Fennell

Wings/Forwards
Donnie Freeman
Sadiq White Jr.
Aaron Womack
Nate Kingz

Power Forwards/Centers
William Kyle lll
Ibrahim Souare

My best guess at the starting line-up for Syracuse basketball in 2025-26, at least for the time being, is as follows:
Naithan George, point guard
J.J. Starling, shooting guard
Nate Kingz, small forward
Donnie Freeman, power forward
William Kyle lll, center

All in all, from my perspective, the 'Cuse coaching staff is doing a solid job this off-season with its transfer portal recruiting efforts. The Orange's 2025 class, both at the high school level and via the portal, hovers around the top 10 nationally on the 247Sports Web site.
