Syracuse basketball 2026 target MJ Madison will spend his senior year at a powerhouse prep-school team.

According to recruiting analyst Sam Kayser, the 6-foot-9, 215-pound Madison is transferring to Prolific Prep, which went 35-6 overall a season ago and reached the semifinals of early April's Chipotle Nationals in Fishers, Ind., near Indianapolis.

High school hoops experts say that Prolific Prep should be a significant contender to cut down the nets at the Chipotle Nationals in the spring of 2026. For the 2025-26 campaign, Prolific Prep has moved its campus from Napa Valley, Calif., to Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Madison, a four-star power forward and a top-125 national prospect in the rising high school senior class, previously suited up for another excellent program, Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y.

Long Island Lutheran competes in the loaded Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic ("EYBL Scholastic"), while Prolific Prep suits up in The Grind Session.

Syracuse basketball offered MJ Madison in the late spring.

The Orange staff offered a scholarship to Madison in early May. I've been told in the past that he's interested in visiting the Hill, although I've yet to see any reports about an official visit being scheduled to the 'Cuse.

Besides Syracuse basketball, Madison's full offer sheet also includes schools such as the College of Charleston, Georgia, Penn State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Kennesaw State.

This off-season, Madison is among numerous stellar prospects who have transferred to Prolific Prep. Others who are joining the Crew include:

•Caleb Holt, a 2026 five-star shooting guard and a top-10 national prospect previously at Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga.

•Bruce Branch III, a 2027 five-star small forward and the country's No. 1 overall player in his class. He transferred from Perry High School in Gilbert, Ariz.

•Davion Adkins, a 2026 four-star center and a top-40 national prospect who moved from the Faith Family Academy in Dallas.

•Nasir Anderson, a 2027 five-star point guard and a top-10 national prospect in his class who transferred from Norcross High School in Norcross, Ga.

While Syracuse basketball has offered scholarships to more than 20 prospects in the 2026 class, the Orange is focused on a smaller group of targets these days. Let's see if Madison takes a 'Cuse visit.

Top 2026 recruits for the 'Cuse staff could include five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr., who will officially visit in late September, five-star shooting guard Jordan Smith Jr., four-star shooting guard Dakari Spear, who plans to visit SU, four-star wing Vaughn Karvala, who will officially visit the same weekend as Rippey, five-star guard/small forward Alex Constanza, four-star big man Asher Elson, who will officially visit the Orange in October, and four-star center Aliou Dioum, among others.
