Former Syracuse football All-American running back Sean Tucker was pleased with his NFL performance on Sunday, and so was the Orange fan base.

Tucker was a star for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Per the Syracuse football X account, he joined former 'Cuse legends Jim Brown, Floyd Little, Larry Csonka and Joe Morris as Orange running backs/fullbacks who had three or more touchdowns in an NFL game.

DART.

On Sunday, Tampa Bay unfortunately fell at the Buffalo Bills by a final score of 44-32. The Buccaneers dropped to 6-4 overall. However, in the setback, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound Tucker, who hails from Owings Mills, Md., was terrific.

Tucker, on the ground, had 19 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Through the air, the 24-year-old hauled in two catches for 34 yards and one more score. So Tucker ended up with 140 combined rushing/receiving yards to go along with three total touchdowns. Impressive.

Former Syracuse football star RB Sean Tucker had quite the outing on Sunday.

Tucker was not selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. He signed with Tampa Bay as an undrafted free agent in May of 2023. To date in the current NFL season, Tucker has 51 carries for 235 yards with four touchdowns. He also has seven receptions for 30 yards with one score.

In his three years on the Hill, Tucker tallied 3,182 total rushing yards and 27 touchdowns on the ground. He also caught 64 passes for 616 yards and four receiving scores. Tucker's career rushing yards is No. 3 on Syracuse football's all-time list.

During the 2021 season, Tucker broke the Orange's single-season rushing record previously held by the legendary Joe Morris. In 2021, Tucker carried the ball 246 times for 1,496 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

Unsurprisingly, in that 2021 campaign, Tucker was named to the All-ACC first team. According to SU Athletics, in that season, he was a first-team All-American from the Football Writers Association of America, while placing on All-America second teams from the Associated Press, Walter Camp and others.

In 2021, Tucker averaged a staggering 124.7 rushing yards per game, and his total of 1,496 yards that term was No. 6 around the country, per cuse.com.

It's great to see him getting more reps in the NFL. Sunday's performance was one of many to come in the future, I hope!
