A running back in the high school junior class from Arkansas who had a monster 2025 campaign is eyeing an upcoming visit to Syracuse football.

Carter Wallace, a 2027 three-star running back, is planning to visit the Orange program during one of its junior days on Saturday, Jan. 24, a source told me. By the way, Syracuse basketball will host Miami at the JMA Wireless Dome on January 24. Syracuse football plans to host another junior day the following Saturday, on January 31.

The 6-foot, 204-pound Wallace is a standout at Valley View High School in Jonesboro, Ark. As a junior in the 2025 season, per his X page, Wallace rushed for more than 1,500 yards with 20 touchdowns. He also had zero fumbles. Impressive. Valley View went 9-2 in 2025.

According to recruiting services, Wallace's scholarship offer sheet features schools such as Minnesota, Arkansas State, North Texas, Cornell, Yale, Memphis, Central Arkansas, Texas State, Navy, UTSA and Tulsa. Teams showing some level of interest in him include the 'Cuse, Wisconsin, Illinois, Penn State, Arkansas and Purdue, per analysts and recruiting Web sites.

At this juncture, it doesn't appear that the Orange has offered a scholarship to Wallace.

Understandably, Wallace scored a bunch of awards and honors for his tremendous junior term, including being named All-State and offensive player of the year.

Within the 2027 class, 247Sports rates Wallace as three stars, No. 73 at running back and No. 6 in Arkansas. At the time of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite placed him as three stars, No. 820 nationally, No. 69 at running back and No. 6 in Arkansas.

To date, the Orange staff has secured at least eight verbal pledges among high school juniors. The team's 2027 cycle is No. 6 overall, per the 247Sports Composite. It does not yet include any running backs. All of Syracuse football's 2027 pledges are three stars, except athlete Tristin Hughes from Ohio is a four-star prospect.

The 'Cuse is expected to have a flood of 2027 targets on campus later this month for the program's junior days.
