Syracuse football's 2026 campaign is less than a month away, with the team's preseason training camp getting going earlier this week.
Third-year head coach Fran Brown and his program are trying to rebound from a lackluster 3-9 overall record last year, after the squad started 3-1. Naturally, the Orange's success in the upcoming season will be contingent upong players staying healthy, most notably, starting quarterback Steve Angeli.
The 'Cuse roster features a lot of returnees who will be asked to take on bigger roles in 2026, along with college transfers and incoming freshmen. Brown also has a lot of new assistant coaches on his staff.
The Atlantic Coast Conference's preseason media poll, released late last month, forecasts Syracuse football to finish at No. 14 in the 17-member conference for football. Most national and ACC observers don't expect the Orange to contend for a league title, although some experts believe that SU can reach a bowl game for the second time under Brown.
