The Gerry McNamara era as the Syracuse basketball head coach officially begins on Monday evening. McNamara and his staff are tasked with trying to turn around an Orange program that has posted two straight losing seasons and hasn't made the annual NCAA Tournament since 2021.
The 'Cuse went 15-17 overall last season. SU officials parted ways with third-year head coach Adrian Autry, who is now an assistant at Virginia. In late March, McNamara was hired as the Orange's next head coach after turning around Siena over the past two campaigns.
