Derrick Coleman was named the 1991 NBA Rookie of the Year after getting picked 1st overall in the 1990 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets.

Coleman averaged 16.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game over his 15-year career in the league. He amassed 12,884 career points, 7,232 rebounds, and 1,051 blocks.

An All-Star in 1994, Coleman was also named to the All-NBA Third-Team (which he also accomplished the previous season).

Coleman is one of three players in NBA history to record a five-by-five in a game with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds – a five-by-five is when a player earns a total of at least five in five different stat categories.
