Danny Schayes was drafted 13th overall by the Utah Jazz in the 1981 NBA Draft and then played 16 seasons in the league.

Schayes’ best season in the NBA came in 1987 when he was playing with the Denver Nuggets. The former Syracuse star center averaged 13.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. In the playoffs that year, he brought in 16.4 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

At the end of the 1987-88 season, Schayes sat at fourth in the NBA with his .640 shooting percentage.

Schayes had 8,780 career points and 5,671 rebounds over his 16 years in the pros.
